Title IX and Civil Rights
Title IX Policy
The Foster School District is committed to maintaining an educational environment that is free from all forms of discrimination, including harassment. We recognize that the civil rights of all school community members are protected by law, and safeguarding these rights is a priority for our district.
In accordance with Title IX, the Foster School District ensures equality of opportunity in all educational programs and activities we operate. We will not discriminate in admissions, treatment, or access to educational programs, activities, and facilities, nor in employment opportunities, on the basis of sex, race, creed, religion, color, national origin, ethnicity, age, veteran or military status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, or the use of a trained dog guide or service animal.
The Foster School District also prohibits sexual harassment in any form. All members of the school community are encouraged to report any incidents of discrimination or harassment. We are committed to investigating all reports promptly and thoroughly while protecting the confidentiality of all parties involved.
To promote awareness and understanding of Title IX and our non-discrimination policies, the Foster School District will provide ongoing training and education for staff, students, and parents. This training will cover the prevention of discrimination and harassment, the rights of individuals under Title IX, and the procedures for reporting and addressing violations.
